updates...
oh dear.. i see that my website is literally growing cobwebs..*swats away the cobwebs*.. it's been more than a month since i updated..
School-life has never been more hectic for me.. in a sense it's quite a revelation.. cos the 1st two and a half of my uni years did not turn out the way i expected, nor was i really living a full life of a uni student... as in schoolly stuff.. the itties-bitties that go into being a student.. attending and actually comprehending and loving the thgs u r learning, making a new circle of frenz.. being in a major where i actually finally begin to revel in the feeling of being in a class again.. where almost everyone knows or seen everyone in the same modules, and participating in social work-related activities..
ahhh.. the feeling of feeling like u r part of the same crowd going after the same goal again.. brings me back to the memories of class bonding in sec sch and p sch.
it was not i really detested my 1st 2 and a half yrs of uni life.. in a way, it did teach me independence, and acceptance of the fact that things did not always go the way i planned.. however to go back into a simple routine of just-school-life, it is just a contenting and satisfying feeling.. cos i know there isnt many yrs i can enjoy this...
it feels good to enter a class and see and say hi to familiar faces, to groan over the same deadlines, term assignments, to sit together planning out the next tutorial assignment, to say hi to lecturers who actually remember u, to have a new group of friends whom just bonded with u from the first tutorial and to share your studyload and secrets with. a bunch of gal pals who encourage u as u r on the brink of breakdown of continuous deadlines, and to motivate u to study and do readings when u r feeling lazy, and to photocopy notes and attend lects today, and to share past histories tger and travel home tger... introducing my new clique of babes.... Samantha (sammie), Yvonne (vonnie) and Karen (karrie).. i feel like my school-life is once more complete and i'm at ease with the world. like somehow i can look fwd to a stable school-life.. in my last year, ironically:)
some recent pics of our outing(a late dinner at vivo-city after a evening SW2105 lecture):
 ::At Asian Kitchen, enjoying la-mian and xiao-long-bao.. the food was euphoric..we got happier as we ate and ate... hot piping soupy la-mian and tasty xiao long bao...ahhhhh...::

in the midst of my papers last week, took time off to celeb papa's bday too... with chili crabs and a delicious choc fudge cake from prima deli (pa's fave):
 ::happy grinning papa::
 ::mummy and papa::
 ::papa cutting cake.. we even made him make a wish and blow candles..hahahaa::
then there was meeting up with grace in the midst of our work... have not really met up much with her and toked much to her too... we been so busy with our separate lives.. but still tried to make some time in the last 2 weeks...:
 ::pretty grace posing with her uzumaki matcha ice-cream, which she said was too creamy::
 ::gracie and me with our uzumaki ice-creams (mine was black sesame, which wasn't as nice as i had thought)::
we watched "The Black Dahlia" and i had a confusing time trying to decipher the plot.. it was just too messy... and then had dinner back at gracie's apartment... our time spent tger is always a stabilising time for me.. for us to share our lives' happenings and just a moment to take a breather from all the hectic-ness...
Then there was my lovely bunch of ex-colleagues from OCBC... we tried to meet up at least once a week... but it's hard to co-ordinate our schedules.. here's some pics of our most recent outing, with my fave bunch of ppl out of the OCBC clique:
 ::KTV-ing at Party-World.. a very last minute decision.. initally our plan had been to just go eat Botak Jones, which i had never tried b4...L-R: Debi baby, Me, Sha, Janey, Zheyan didi::
 ::we still had our Botak Jones anyway... haha made it for the last hour b4 it closed::
 ::the 4 babes of OCBC temp staff::
we played tennis at Safra Yishun the next day to burn off some fats from the dinner.. i was a fluke at tennis i tell ya... haha but the running ard the tennis court succeeded in giving me a workout and aches all over for 2 days after...
My aunt from london oso came over to Singapore to visit us during this period.. took us swimming and for good food at orchard hotel and authentic jap food at Shangrila.. she even bought us lots of foodstuffs from her short trip to HK.. really a sweet, caring, giving woman.. the best thg tt happened during her trip here was that my sisters' misunderstanding of her was cleared up:) :
 ::International Buffet at Orchard Hotel::
 ::Aunty Belinda and me::
 ::Aunty B and Shu Ying::
Ok and then there was outing with flo last friday... (but no pics:().. met up with zitian more than a month ago too(1st time after her trip back from US)...(hey gal, we'll meet up soon again k???)...
and finally tmr, gonna catch up with cat dear in school...
wad's life without these wonderful ppl in my life??? hugs to all...
i oso jus joined the newly formed Social Work Society, the first after the Social Work and Psychology Society (SWAPS) split, as Asst Honorary Treasurer... had our first official meeting on Sat, of which i had the first taste of society dynamics... as i had never been really involved in a society before this...
wanna know some of the first impressions they had of me?? we had to do this exercise where we wrote all our first impressions of each other on our individual papers.. mine ran along the line of "cool", "funky hairdo (which some ppl presumed i'm a heavy drinker etc... haha got them fooled)", "exotic fashion sense (i'm honoured:))" and strange enough, "humour"... haha maybe i just never tot of myself as humourous, having always taken everythg seriously... maybe it's attributed to a new outlook on life..
work-wise, i had a very interesting visit to IMH (Institute of Mental Health) of which i had a very fruitful learning experience.. went with Sam, and our In-charge for the day was this very experienced medical social worker, Mr Koh, who taught me more in a day than my some of lecturers did for a module..he made us very interested in the medical social work field... we had a chance to interview some real patients and he patiently went through an evaluation for us all...oh i wish i can do my placement there.. but i hrd they have limited places.. and i have not taken the module "Medical Social Work", which is only offered in Semester 1... and im graduating next sem le... sad.. i'll see wad i can do in future manz
anyway folks, thats all for now... have lots more to say, like my sylvanians collection=P.. but till the next time:):):)!!!!!
